Can you showcase one of my songs in your video?
Absolutely! If you’ve purchased the song, your video is non-profit, and it’s PG (no swearing, nudity, etc.), you’re good to go. Just make sure to credit me and any collaborators by linking to my website or Instagram. For commercial use, simply fill out the contact form to get a mechanical license from Songtrust. Easy peasy!
How do I request permission to perform one of your plays?
Start by buying the script you need, then send me a message through the contact form with the play title, your producers or theatre company, venue, seating capacity, ticket prices, nonprofit status, number of performances, and performance dates. I’ll use that info to work out the royalty/performance rights details and next steps. Please don’t copy scripts without permission—legal copies only, always. If your cast needs multiple copies, make sure you’ve got enough unless I’ve said otherwise.
How do I get the rights to perform your sheet music or play your music in public?
Make sure you've purchased the sheet music beforehand, and contact us to let us know your intentions. If we approve you, we'll direct you to our PRO to obtain a public performance license. Remember: it is illegal to reproduce sheet music without permission from the copyright holder, so if the music you're performing has multiple parts, you will need to purchase extra copies unless you've contacted us.
Can I record and release a cover of your song?
Possibly — but please ask before you release anything. If you want to record, distribute, or monetize a cover of one of my songs, contact me first so we can make sure the licensing is handled the right way. For simple noncommercial sharing, credit matters a lot; for anything public-facing or money-making, I’ll help point you toward the proper permissions.
Are performance rights included when I purchase a script or song?
Nope — buying the script or song and getting permission to perform it are two different things. A purchase gives you access to the material, but you still need the proper performance license or approval before staging, recording, or publicly performing it. If you’re not sure what you need, send me the details and I’ll help point you in the right direction without the legal headache spiral.
Do you offer special rates for nonprofit theatres, schools, or student productions?
Sometimes, yes — I’m open to working with productions that have limited budgets, especially when the project is mission-driven or helping new artists get on their feet. Send me a message with your production type, venue, dates, and a quick note about your budget, and I’ll let you know what’s possible. I can’t promise a miracle, but I can promise a real conversation.
