Every Friday, I write a post about singers with unique voices not commonly heard in mainstream music. My goal? To educate emerging artists and music lovers while inspiring them to embrace their own quirks. This week, I'm writing about Bella DeNapoli.

Back during the height of the Virus Plaguing the Whole World in 2021, singing competitions still went on as usual, just with slight modifications. Season 21 of The Voice was the first time artists in the Battle Round could perform standing by each other instead of their own separate rings like they had the season before. I was a year out of college with a seemingly useless degree, and slogging through a job market drier than the Sahara. So in the meantime to keep me sane, I was posting content. Of me playing guitar. Singing musical theatre songs. Whatever. But it needed something more. It was fun and all, but it couldn't all be about me. After all, I ran a radio show for a year showcasing other people's unique talents. And as I always do when watching these shows, I watch for at least one that stands out in a sea of homophonous apparent marketability. There was a lot of good talent, obviously.
But then along came Bella DeNapoli.
Thank you, God! I'll make a reaction video. People love my reactions to things. And I'm naturally hilarious. And unique voices give me the good kind of shivers down my spine. So, let's share it to my corner of the online world.
34k views later, this was the moment I knew: the Unique Voices Club served an entertaining purpose on radio. Now...it has to exist again.
And since resurrecting it last year (after all the post-COVID adulting jazz and sorting out my life), and gaining thousands of more views, here we are. Welcome to the first Unique Voices Club post of 2026.
You'll notice that things are going to start to look different here. I'm going to talking more. You'll actually see the passion. And get to listen to the unique voices in real time, instead of having to make an educated guess based on whatever snippet Spotify gives you and what I write in here.
(I made a reaction for Bella's Battle Round performance as well but YouTube blocked it in America unfortunately. So here's the Knockout performance featuring some of my other faves.)
And as always, my weekly reminder to aspiring unconventional artists. You can make whatever art you like. You'll find your audience. Bella wasn't a finalist on The Voice. But since being on the show she's performed at 54 Below (a cabaret run by Broadway producers) and worked with Kara DioGuardi. So you really never know what will happen until you put yourself out there and do it.
